What are you thankful for in your internship experience?
I am thankful for the relationships I have built and being able to physically contribute to an organization, I am also thankful for the kindness of the people that I have been working with and mentored by, it makes me feel very comfortable and welcome in my work place and makes the overall environment feel more friendly!
What are social interactions like in your workplace? Do people spend a lot of time socializing? Are people isolated, doing their own things? Lots of collaboration on work projects? Not much collaboration? How does the social dynamic impact or reflect the organization's work?
Some of the social interactions that occur in my workplace are when people work together when they are making and selling coffee in the café and when people are working together packaging and labeling in the warehouse. At my internship people spend a lot of time socializing regardless of where they are working, me personally I work in the warehouse, where coffee is roasted and packaged, in this area people do both, they socialize and they are sometimes isolated. Often times we all just listen to music with our headphones on and just do our own thing but sometimes someone will bring a speaker and we will all listen to music together and talk while we all work! There are lots of forms of collaboration in my workplace, people will often provide help for each other so things can be completed quicker and more efficiently. The overall social dynamic impacts the organization in various different ways, the café is overall a very social place, customers will often sit with each other outside and share drinks together, and all of the employees are all very kind and they all know one another, its like a big family and I find this interesting because this doesn't happen often in work places but when it does the work place is improved and becomes overall more comfortable for customers and workers!
